• Question: How good was the science in the film "gravity"

      I haven’t seen it yet…but the title is enough for me..I will have to go and see it and I’ve read some good review! I hope you liked it.

      As usual, there are a few realistic sides, and a few less realistic sides to it. Even though I am a scientist, I tend to overlook minor such flaws in movies, because if I didn’t there would hardly be any movie left to enjoy! 🙂
      So, I am really not the best person to ask this particular question, but I know who you could ask instead. Garrett Reisman, an actual astronaut who has done space walks before (and, as he says, almost got hit by space debris once), wrote a very interesting and partially funny review of “gravity” here:

      Looks like the message is that the movie is pretty accurate on the technology, but does take its liberties with science. 🙂

      I’m sorry, I haven’t seen Gravity yet! At least there’s no sound in space, so that’s one good thing going for it.
